Barb's Heartstokes - Holiday Feature Series - Hand Painted Folk Art, Whimsical & Primitive Designs

Meet Barbara, Owner of Barb'sHeartrokes

My husband was deployed to the Middle East soon after we were married so I decided this was a great time to try my hand at painting and have LOVED every minute since…that was 18 years ago.
My art work is hand painted on fiberglass black screening material, so it adds an interesting texture to the art work. I love to paint whimsical, folk art and primitive pieces adding my own style to the work. The art work is then framed in handmade wood frames made from old barns and fences or recycled natural wood from lumber yards.

Annette's Whimsies - Holiday Feature Series - Handmade Fun

Meet Annette, Owner of Annette's Whimsies

Welcome to my shop of Whimsies, my name is Annette. You will find an eclectic display of hand made fun created by an elf. From photographic art, mostly of wildlife expression, to upcycled jeans and ELF scarves! In the late ’90’s I owned a toy shop and everyone knew me as the head ELF so I kept that persona. It seems to fit since I create unusual hand crafted items, many of which are one of a kind (I do not mass produce so each is truly unique). I have been creating gifts for friends and family since I was a kid. Some of it was because I was short on money but I think I just never liked what I found in the stores. It seemed so cold and impersonal. There is nothing like a heart made gift especially from an ELF! My adventures in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado began in 1991. Living in a small cabin means lil space but it is cozy to sit by the fire and share with my friends all of the adventures I have here!

Frilled Lizard - Holiday Feature Series - Handmade Bags and Hairclips

Meet Marianne, who shares a shop with her sister at Frilled Lizard

My sister Rebekah who lives in Las Vegas started Frilled Lizard Boutique because she likes frilled lizards, which she hopes to see one day when she travels to Australia. She is very crafty. So she makes unique hair clips and book bags for the shop.

I joined her shop. My name is Marianne, I live near the mile high city, love the mountains, shopping and eating. For the shop currently, I added tutus (my daughter loves to model them she is obsessed with all things girly at the age of 4 months) hats, photography, and my love of bright colors. At Frilled Lizard Boutique we add new items frequently so come and follow us.
